Things You Should Know Before Scheduling an Appointment
New Jersey Psychiatric Clinic offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, individual therapy, substance abuse treatment, behavioral therapy, and telepsychiatry services. Our goal is to provide personalized, compassionate care to support your mental and emotional well-being.
We provide treatment to clients aged 18 and older. Services are available to residents of New Jersey and surrounding areas. Our telepsychiatry services allow for virtual consultations with clients located within New Jersey state boundaries.
Please note that New Jersey Psychiatric Clinic does not provide crisis management services. If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency or life-threatening situation, please dial 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency department.
We kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice for any appointment cancellations or rescheduling requests. This allows us to offer your appointment time to another client on our waitlist and helps us continue to provide timely care to everyone.
If you cancel or fail to attend an appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be charged a $100 cancellation fee (for established patients) or a $150 fee (for new patients). Please note that you are financially responsible for appointments not rescheduled or canceled within the required timeframe.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, it may result in cancellation or rescheduling of your appointment. This policy helps ensure that all patients are seen promptly and that our schedule runs efficiently.
If you experience an emergency that requires rescheduling, please contact our office as soon as possible. While we will make every effort to accommodate your situation, immediate rescheduling of missed appointments cannot be guaranteed.
Repeated instances of missed appointments without prior notice may result in discharge from our practice. This decision is made to ensure that we can continue to provide effective care to all of our patients.
New Jersey Psychiatric Clinic does not provide one-time psychiatric evaluations for purposes such as employment clearance, disability claims, or legal matters. For established clients, we may consider these evaluations on a case-by-case basis. If you require assistance with completing forms such as Short-Term Disability (STD) or Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) forms, please schedule a dedicated appointment to discuss your needs.
Any form submissions, medical record reviews, or communications with external agencies that require substantial time and effort outside of your scheduled appointment will incur a $50 fee. This fee must be paid prior to the submission of the forms or records. Please note that this fee does not cover routine tasks like medication refills, authorization requests, or returning patient phone calls.
Our medication policy is designed to prioritize your health and safety while providing you with the best possible care.
We encourage all medication requests (e.g., changes, refills, or new prescriptions) to be handled during your scheduled office visits. Please bring an updated list of your current medications to each appointment to ensure accurate and timely management of your treatment. Typically, prescriptions will be issued to cover your needs until the next scheduled visit.
In certain cases where you must cancel an appointment due to a valid reason, our provider may offer a one-time bridge refill to ensure your medication continues without interruption. However, it is important to remember that the most effective way to manage your medications is during regular office visits.
The frequency of your visits will be determined collaboratively with you and your provider, based on factors like the severity of your symptoms, the medications prescribed, and your progress. Initially, visits may be more frequent (e.g., monthly), and as you stabilize, visits may become less frequent (e.g., quarterly). In line with community standards, patients receiving psychotropic medications must be evaluated by a medical professional at least every 90 days to continue their medication regimen. Failure to attend an evaluation within this timeframe may require a follow-up visit to reassess your treatment needs.
Please ensure that you track your medication supply to avoid running out. New Jersey Psychiatric Clinic cannot accommodate emergency medication refills or urgent medication requests. It is essential that you plan ahead and request refills in a timely manner.
When requesting medication refills, please ensure that you have at least three days' worth of medication remaining. You may contact your pharmacy directly to request a refill, as many refills can be processed without the need for an office visit.
We offer telepsychiatry services for eligible patients, allowing you to access care remotely from the comfort of your home. Virtual consultations are available for most services, including psychiatric evaluations, therapy, and medication management. If you are interested in scheduling a telehealth appointment, please speak with our office staff to ensure that you meet the requirements for virtual care.
If you have any questions or need further clarification about our policies, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office. Your understanding of and compliance with these guidelines help us maintain the high standard of care you deserve.
New Jersey Psychiatric Clinic is here to support you on your journey toward improved mental health and overall well-being. We look forward to partnering with you in achieving your treatment goals.
